The AKC Canine Good Citizen Program is a wonderful opportunity to go further with training and have fun with your dog. The program is for any dog, mixed or purebred. It was developed by the AKC to encourage and reward “good manners” in dogs and to set a standard for how dogs should behave out in public, whether on a walk with their owners, greeting a visitor or at the veterinary office.

Working towards the completion of the Canine Good Citizen exam and gaining the Certificate is not only fun but a very productive way to interact with your dog. It builds your relationship in a positive way while training your dog to be able to be a more visible member of society.
